The cells that make up your body can sense and respond to the environment through a process called cell signaling, and for this to happen it is essential that the cells obtain the necessary nutrients. You want to know more?

Currently, there is a nutritional technology that favors the good state of health of cells, which is based on a natural process called cell signaling, and uses molecular targets of nutrients to achieve this.

In order to explain, in greater detail, how is this possible? We want to give you more information on effective cell signaling, and on the key nutrients that allow you to speak the same language as cells.

What is cell signaling?

Throughout the day your body carries out complex tasks, which range from maintaining its temperature to protecting itself from external factors that could be considered dangerous. All of the above is possible because billions of cells communicate with each other efficiently and effectively. This communication process is called cell signaling.

Cell signaling aims to respond and adapt to the outdoor and indoor environment. When the cell signaling pathways work properly, good health is promoted and maintained, and the body functions smoothly.

The four types of nutrients involved in cell interaction

Micro and essential macronutrients: Macronutrients are the large elements, that is, proteins, carbohydrates and fats; that the body uses for calories (energy), as well as building material for cells. On the other hand, micronutrients are found in fruits and vegetables, and are a source of vitamins and minerals.

Antioxidant Protection: Harmful oxidants are produced as a result of our daily activities. To combat them and avoid health complications, a sufficient amount of antioxidants is required.

The antioxidants that we take from food include vitamins and other organic compounds, which neutralize oxidants in a ratio of one to one, or one to two; this means that each antioxidant molecule (for example vitamin C) has the ability to deal with one or two oxidants.

Additional Nutritional Support: Additional nutrients, as the name implies, are an extra health aid, for example, nutrients such as lutein, zeaxanthin and glucosamine are deposited in specific areas of the body to provide particular benefits, including: having a healthy vision, strengthen cognitive functioning, skin and joint health.

Phytonutrients: Fruits and vegetables have been known to provide benefits to the human body for years, but scientists had to know why. Their search led them to phytonutrients; which are compounds produced by plants and, among other things, responsible for their bright colors.

Recent research has shown that some plant-derived nutrients (phytonutrients) also have direct and positive effects on the cell signaling process. For example:

- Epicatechin, supports cardiovascular health (present in chocolate and grape seeds).

- Sulforaphane and ECGC activate detoxification pathways (found in broccoli and green tea, respectively).

- Lipoic acid is an aid in the detoxification process and helps to maintain the recommended weight, according to the person's size and age, thus avoiding health complications derived from being overweight (present in spinach and other vegetables).

- Curcumin, favor the immune system (found in turmeric root).

Do not lose sight of the fact that age, stress and certain environmental factors can hinder effective communication between cells. Hence the importance of knowing the role of all these nutrients, and of helping cells through healthy habits and a lifestyle that includes an intake rich in vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, antioxidants, proteins and healthy fats.
